FAQS

HOW OFTEN DOES SUBCOM LONESTAR MEET?

How often we get together depends on where we are at in the season, the weather, and on event organizer availability.

In general, we try to connect via group newsletters once a month, and plan for a local area event at least once every three months or so. Groups of local skippers often gather together informally for an afternoon of submarines and camaraderie.

You can always check out the SubCom channel on the SubCommittee forums in order to get up-to-the-minute news on upcoming events and get togethers.

HOW DO I JOIN A MEETING FOR THE FIRST TIME?

First step is to fill out the form on the Join Us Page. We need to know who you are so that we can reach out to say, "howdy"!

Once that's done, check out the Activities Page for upcoming events.

As always, feel free to reach out with specific questions and we'll get back to you ASAP.

DO I HAVE TO BE A MEMBER TO PARTICIPATE?

At this time, SubCom Lonestar itself does not collect dues or fees from members. We are, however, an officially recognized offshoot of the SubCommittee. As such, if you operate a submarine at an officially sanctioned SubCom Lonestar event, you do need to be a member in order to participate (for legal and safety reasons).

Membership is very reasonable and you get great benefits. Check out the SubCommittee here.
